Keep in mind that by doing these exercises with the proper tempo, repetitions, and sets you can target your weight loss and/or muscle gaining goals.   1. If your goal is to lose weight, you should perform anywhere from 12 to 15 repetitions.
  2. If your goal is to bulk up you should perform lower repetitions ranging from 4 to 8.
